Day Four Of Growing

Ali's Seeds

Ali:  Today during lunch, the seeds were divided among everyone in our group, to which I was completely overjoyed with. I went outside after coming home and gathered soil, which was later placed in my cup. I placed some more soil in a plastic bag to be analyzed later. I placed three seeds every three inches in my cup, and the proceeded to water them with one- half of a cup of water, which my plants require to grow. I also began the twelve hour lighting cycle I need to maintain for my plants. I cannot wait for my plants to grow to their maximum potential.

The Packet of Seeds That Were Distributed
Adam:  Today everyone in the group brought a Ziplock bag to school, and at lunch everyone was given one fourth of the seeds. We carefully transported the seeds throughout the day, so they will not get squashed. When I got home, I put a plastic lid under each pot so that when I begin planting, the water will not pour out the bottom. I then filled each pot with Miracle-Grow planting soil which will be tested tomorrow. I am now waiting to for further instructions from Nikita as to how deep and how far apart the seeds should go. I will be giving each pot one fourth of a cup of water a day, and twelve hours of lamp light. As soon as the plant breaks the surface of the soil, I will record the height in millimeters and also have a picture every day.

Miles's Seeds
Miles: Today during lunch, our group equally distributed the seeds into a zip lock bag. Each person received 1/4 of the seeds provided in the seed pack. It was very important that we were very careful with the seeds because the carrot seeds tend to be fragile and sensitive. When I safely carried the seeds back home, I planted the seeds in rows. I gently sprinkled them on top of the soil, then gently poured 1/2cup of water. I will now wait for the seeds to emerge from the soil. As soon as the carrot seeds emerge from the soil, I'll take photos.

Nikita's Seeds
Nikita: Today during lunch we distributed the seeds between ourselves. We decided that it would be best for all of to all grow our seeds in soil from our backyard instead of spending money on store-bought soil. When i got home, I got soil from my backyard and filled the temporary cups with the soil. I then put the seeds in and covered them with more soil. I also made sure to give them water. As soon as they emerge from the soil, i will be taking pictures of the plants daily!measure the plants progress daily.
