Miles: To plant our group's carrots, we needed soil that'll make our carrot grow successfully. Since it was raining for the last 4 days, I figured that the soil in my backyard was full with minerals. I also figured that the soil was nutritious because my parents and I used food waste to make the soil rich in the last few
months. Therefore, I decided to use the soil that could be founded in my backyard.

| Ali's Environment |
Ali: I managed to obtain many of the key elements. The lamp I have placed in my plant's environment will be active for twelve hours each day. This lamp was purchased from a garage sale for 75¢. The water bottle is also near the 20¢ cup I have obtained. This 40¢ water bottle will provide the plant with one-half cup of water each day. My total cost as of now is $1.35. On Monday, when I obtain my portion of the seeds, I will also gather soil, which my seeds will be placed in. My soil is now going to be gathered from the backyard, while Nikita's commercial soil will act as the constant variable. The soils Miles, Adam, and I gather will be the variables. See you tomorrow!

| Adam's Environment |
Adam: Today each member of the group was assigned to go out and buy any supplies needed for the beginning of the project. I went to Walmart and bought four clay pots for $1.32, a lamp to provide heat and light energy needed for life ($1.75), and obtained some soil from my home. I then put together my budget for the project, and so far my total is $3.07. When I got home I found a safe spot to set up my growing station where the plants will not be disturbed. I set the pots up in a row and placed the lamp above them. Now that the area is ready, I await bringing the seeds home on Monday, when we will begin the growing process. Also, we have realized that leaving the lamp on 24/7 may not be the best choice, so right now the times that we have the lamps on is open for debate.

Nikita's Environment
|
Nikita: Today i set up the arrangement for our plants. I found a suitable spot near a window so the plants can receive natural sunlight as well as light from a lamp. This lamp will stay on for approximately 12 hours everyday. As a group we also decided that I would grow my seeds in store-bought soil, while Miles, Ali, and Adam grow theirs in soil from their backyards. I decided to first grow my seeds in a plastic cup and later transfer them into a bigger pot as needed. As of now, I have the seed packet, but we are planning to distribute them on Monday so we can start growing our seeds as soon as possible!
